I miss you! I would love to be with you exploring word processing in the classroom this quarter! Instead, I will be posting some fun word activities. Come back next week for another fun activity. But remember, no grades in Specials during remote learning! Just use these activities for a break and have some fun! Know that I think of each of you. You are in my prayers and I hope to see you all again soon! Let me what you are doing and how you like all this computer learning stuff!
Happy Mother's Day-May 10, 2020!
Let's make a Mother's Day card using MS Word--or any word processor. I would rate my video as a B-Movie (meaning, not great!) because I had so many interruptions! I hope you will muddle through it and make a beautiful card for your Mom-or whoever provides that love and support in your family! No every "Mom" has to be a "Mom"; it could be an aunt, uncle, sister, brother, grandmother, grandad, or you dad! Honor that person that loves and cares for you!
You have learned most of the skills needed to make the card. New skills include making columns and changing from Portrait to Landscape Orientation. The video shows you how to do this!
I have posted three files to help you: a video, written instructions, and a sample card:
How to make a card video
Written instructions to make a card
Sample of a Mother's Day Card
(Check your printer to see how to print front and back)
Now that you have entered Green Eggs and Ham into your word processor, it is time to make it interesting. Use skills you already know to add/change attributes like font face face adn font size.

Let's practice Word Processing again! This time we will type an excerpt (a small portion) from Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham. So Click on the document and follow the instructions!
Green Eggs and Ham Word Processing Assignment
I hope you enjoyed making the Easter card! Before we jump into another word processing project, take this week to practice your typing skills. Try this ghostly game! Type the words that appear on the Ghosts! (If you have sound, be sure it is on-lots of eerie sounds!) Have fun!
It is time to finish the Easter Poem and make it pretty and interesting! After you type in the words and format the color, let's change the alignment, add some Word Art (in MS Word only) and a picture. Watch this video (in MP4 format) to help you with these tasks (and be patient, I am not an Oscar winning actress yet!):
Now let’s start using those typing skills! Open whatever word processor you have (we use MS Word in class). We are going to enter an Easter poem. Click here for the instructions and poem.
This week we will do a review of keyboarding. I’ve attached a link to a great free online keyboard program. No one should start on beginner! Have some fun with the games too.
