At St. Matthew Catholic School, we love cheering on our Cardinals! Athletics is not only a way for our students to excel in the lessons of teamwork and integrity, but it also provides an opportunity for the entire St. Matthew community to join together as we support our student athletes in the development of Christian character through their participation in sports.
St. Matthew is well known for its sensational athletics program. Our teams consistently reach the championship play-offs and emerge victorious. While everyone recognizes that team sports are a healthy way for children to compete and expend energy by working together toward a common goal, the students at St. Matthew are further inspired by our Catholic values to demonstrate impeccable sportsmanship.
Our athletics programs encourage our kids to think strategically, win with humility, and lose with grace. Our teams are most successful not just because they win the games, but because they are triumphant in Spirit!

We are blessed to enjoy the St. Matthew Catholic Church Sports Complex located at 11121 Wurzbach Road. The facilities include a regulation size baseball field, softball field, and football/soccer field. The baseball and softball fields feature covered dugouts for the players and awnings over the bleachers for the fans, as well as a netted batting cage. The complex facilities also include a concession stand, restrooms, picnic areas and a playground.
Our Sports Complex facilities provide the ideal environment to promote the health, fitness, recreational and educational life of St. Matthew Catholic School and Parish. We are proud to offer safe and inclusive venues for our CYO and school teams to compete and for our large community to gather together.
