NJHS (National Junior Honor Society)
Students in middle school have the opportunity to be eligible for membership in The St. Matthew the Evangelist Chapter of National Jr. Honor Society. Students are selected for induction by a Faculty council based on the criteria outlined by NJHS. Students may be eligible for induction at the end of their 6th grade year, 7th grade year or 8th grade year. The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Citizenship.
St. Matthew Catholic School NJHS members provide leadership throughout the school year and play an integral role in school wide community service efforts.
Student Council
In addition to providing an excellent academic experience for our students, we also provide our students with the advantage of taking on leadership roles at the school.
Student Council is a school leadership organization of student representatives elected from kindergarten through eighth grade. The student council members work diligently through their elected year to represent the school and their classmates, setting a positive example of Christian leadership.
The St. Matthew Catholic School Student Council Pledge:
“I promise to represent St. Matthew Catholic School and students to the best of my ability. I will set a positive example of Christian student leadership for all students to follow."
