Kim Martinez has taught kindergarten at St. Matthew Catholic School for 12 years. She earned a BS in Elementary Education with a Specialization in Reading from Texas State University. She holds a Reading Recovery Certification from Texas Women’s University. Previous to St. Matthew, she taught in Dallas for seven years; five years teaching first grade and two years as a Reading Recovery teacher. Mrs. Martinez was born in New Orleans, raised in a large Catholic family, grew up in Houston, lived in Dallas right out of college and met her husband, Gerry, whom she’s been married to for 32 years. She moved to Colorado Springs with her husband where her three children, Daniel , Megan and Ashley were born. She and her family lived in beautiful Colorado for 14 years. She moved back to Texas to get closer to family and chose San Antonio specifically because of St. Matthew and Antonian. Her children are a product of Catholic education and a wonderful community. She is a proud mother of two lawyers and a senior at SMU. Her newest blessing is her nine month old grandson, Patrick. Mrs. Martinez loves spending time together with her family and traveling!
