Mrs. Tracey Garza was born in Beaumont and grew up in Houston and Fort Worth, Texas. Since both her parents are from San Antonio, and her grandparents are still here, this city has always felt like home. Mrs. Garza earned a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University in 2006 and an Executive MBA in Banking and Financial Institutions from Sam Houston State University in 2010. She and her husband, Michael, have been married fourteen years and have three children: Belle (5th grade), Audrey (3rd grade), and Dash (1st grade). Prior to becoming a full-time mom, Mrs. Garza had worked in Bank Administration and Public Affairs at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Houston Branch.
Once Dash began PK at St. Matthew Catholic School, Mrs. Garza started substitute teaching at the school. In 2020, she was blessed with the opportunity to officially be on staff as the P.E. Assistant. Coach Tracey is enthusiastic about engaging students in physical education and character-building skills. She cherishes her memories of running track and cross-country, playing basketball, and cheerleading in middle school and high school. This is Coach Tracey’s second year assisting Coach Garza and Coach Hernandez in creating a positive P.E. experience for all our Cardinals.
Mrs. Garza is a parishioner at St. Matthew Catholic Church. She serves her community as a volunteer in the Junior League of San Antonio, Inc. and as a board member of American Heritage Girls at St. Francis of Assisi. One of her favorite things about her position at St. Matthew’s is that she gets to help teach almost every student. It’s also fun to hear Dash call her Coach Mom! When not at school, Mrs. Garza enjoys spending time with her family outdoors at Jäger Tal Ranch.
